This CNY is almost the same but its better

Our yearly reunion

WOW! So much food how to finish? Yar every year around the same time, people, friends and family are reunited in their homes for the festive season of Chinese New Year.

Yesterday was the 3rd day of new year... and after 3 consecutive days (the eve included) of being on a 'foodfest', I, once again, found myself on a table full of dishes and having the 'close' feeling of squeezing with my friends. As I was indulging in fabulous dishes (which includes the world's best Ngor Hiang) prepared my Yanhe's mum... I suddenly realized... last year we were all gathered around the same table at the same place. Yar I manage to find a picture of the previous year here. Magical right?

I am glad that this year, I manage to keep that tradition going with a few of my closer friends. In addition... Thank you Mr and Mrs Han for housing us this year... your hospitality rocks and I really enjoyed myself.

I hope next year the spirit of reuniting continues... it will right? *Hint* *Hint* haha.

My 2008

This is obviously long over due... Yar typical me right? So better watch it now then never... Watch it before you read the rest of the message.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZHoIJkXt_s&feature=channel_page

Some where in 2008, I made a promise that I will create some recollection of our final sem in NUS, so did I promise to make a video about Mulu, the grad trip and our small little moments in 2008. Well so after being 'me' and procrastinating for months, I finally manage to compile this video ... haha

Yup this video is something I wanted to do for a long long time... o yar, the video has 2 parts.

1 - a photo journal of some random events and things we did last year in 2008. I did the taglines and took the pictures in Taiwan when I was thinking of people like you... especially Geri, joey and the chocobos... sorry I couldn't be there for new year or Christmas!

2 - a few pictures of moments we shared during the course of 2008

Thank you Rita Lee and Stereophonics for the great tunes. Rock on!
Thank you Jilyn for helping me by pushing me to do some of the photos for the journal.
Thank you friends for 2008.

Its been a very rough year so far... seriously. Everyday I wonder why life is so 'silent' and painful at times. What a crappy start to 2009, I really haven't been enjoying myself.

But I guess, its time to be a bit more proactive (like how Geri will always encourage me. I remember you tell me 2 days before your wedding that "from this moment on, all your bad luck shall go away!") and start being happy... I am really trying very hard... but its difficult.

But today, I realize how happy I can be, if I decide to do things that make me happy. Thanks Geri and Joey, for spending some time off with me in the evening... it truely encourages me to keep trying to search for happiness.

I miss the fun times, but I think its time to make new happy memories... so yar, I am really going to try. And to some of my friends (Like Carol and Geri) ... Hey we must try to take a bit more pictures in 2009... I couldn't find any of our pictures in my photo collection... I am sure the next few years you would like to see your face appear at least once right? haha.

P.S.
Good morning Liling, the beehoon girl ... haha, I know I been a bit rubbish lately... but honestly your laughter, smile and irritation does keep me going on. Not sure why, when I spend time with you I feel a bit younger... haha. I must be dreaming right?

Rain Check.

I never really understood the idea of 'Rain Check' until recently.

Maybe its time I really considered taking a rain check. A really long one.

Its been 3 years since I had the impetus to setup this blog and till today, I never clearly comprehend why it feels so miserable when I think about the future. No, I am not thinking of Michele or anyone else.

But of late I realized that I haven't really had much fun doing stuff. In fact, it hurts greatly to realize I would miss one of my favorite band's concert and that a traditional enjoyable trip down to Chinatown on New year's eve would not be possible once again. Maybe I get annoyed and pissed when people talk to me about the future because I don't really want to plan for stuff which I know no one would be interested in doing with me.

On the bright side, I do know my happiest moments these days are being on my mountain bike, picking up my D50 and being under water in the afternoons. Yar so for now, I think I will choose to take a rain check because I need to understand how it feels to be 'really' happy.

I hope we become famous.

Someday, I will look back at this youtube (Boon Lay Blues) and laugh my intestines out.

I am glad to have Laremy as my roommate. Thats because, only a few friends like Laremy are willing to listen and comfort me nowadays. I am glad during my most withdrawal of days, people like you can actually make me laugh.

Thanks bro.

An evening by the Jetty.

Once again today isn't that lovely. The days seem to get worse each day. There is a time bomb that is ticking away. Some of us share the same bomb. Others might not understand. Some know but do nothing about it.

The way I deal with my time bomb is to pick up the keys to violet and take a drive away from 'home'. Get away from everyone. So that nobody will give a damm who you are. Hence the freedom to really be myself. Alone and happy.

So today I drove down Jalan Bahar, all the way to Jalan Bahtera jetty. Sat there for an hour in the wind just to catch the sunset. Amazingly while I was there, nobody spoke a single word of English. Only Malay and dialect was spoken by the individuals in the area. Its quite an amazing space in Singapore as it reflects a kind of small malay fishing community. Ironically, the coast opposite the sea was Malaysia.

Yar, so here are some photographs showing how a gloomy day eventually ends with a warming sunset. I guess there really is hope ... I felt it there... the warmth amidst the chilling wind.

Shades

I am a bit tired... but I think I need to start blogging about life again... if not I will be able to 'tell' my friends about my adventures in Nepal and Taiwan. So lets start with some pictures I took during both trips... that way I don't have to express my joy and feelings with words. After all most of the time I prefer to let the pictures do the 'talking'...

So this series of photos (trust me, I kind of like taking this style) are what I call 'Shades'. Meaning? The object that I intend to focus on is too dark, hence it appears black or 'shaded' against the brighter backgrounds. Kinds of expresses my current feeling and mood... a bit gloomy although I might seem to be rather normal. So yar folks, I do hope you enjoy this pictures. Hopefully I post more entries and photos as well.

Just a question

What if ... one day you wake up and you feel that you became a different person?

Like the night before you wanted to go out and have fun but the next morning you decide to lock yourself in your room. You sit in your room the entire day, thinking about how much you really wish to stay away from everyone... all the plans you made days ago to meet your friends seem to be something you suddenly do not look forward to.

And the scariest thought is... you actually feel better that way. Odd right?

But its just a thought and a question that doesn't need any answers.
