In life we often hurt the people we love the most and we try, like children, to live true to our feelings but there are more important things than me and my dreams
What is the Violet Ribbon Project? The Violet Ribbon (not the http://www.violetribbon.org/) is a project to create awareness against message, signs, jokes, gestures, etc. that cause harm to friends.
Origins of the Violet Ribbon Project. The term was coined by Leon Tan and Tan Li Ling in the fall of 2008. It was name after the vehicle that the former drove, a car that was well liked by all the friends of both the founders. The Violet Ribbon Project begun as an agreement between both parties to reduce the amount of mockery aimed at the former's poor command of English.
The 1st principle of the Violet Ribbon Project. "There is no point in laughing at people's mistakes, in fact it's not a nice thing to do (to friends)".
Jilyn Tan, a supporter of the Violet Ribbon Project constructed the 1st principle of the Violet Ribbon Project as she felt that no one deserves the hurt of being laughed at and believes that certain 'friendly jokes' may be inappropriate and uncalled for.
